MBP8298 is a synthetic peptide with a sequence corresponding to amino acid residues 82–98 of human myelin basic protein (DENPVVHFFKNIVTPRT). Dirucotide is a synthetically peptide of 17 amino acids. The peptide is a section of myelin basic protein (MBP) in humans. Dirucotide was used for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). MBP8298 was evaluated in a placebo-controlled double-blinded Phase II clinical trial in patients with progressive MS. |
